Participant Waiver, Release of Liability, and Assumption of Risk Agreement

IMPORTANT: THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING.

By signing this form, I acknowledge that I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions related to my participation in any group run, training session, race, event, or activity (“Activities”) organized or affiliated with Run West.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating in running and associated physical activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Physical exertion, muscle strains, sprains, and injuries;
Uneven terrain, road crossings, and traffic hazards;
Weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and lightning;
Animal encounters and natural obstacles.

I willingly accept full responsibility for all risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, even if arising from the negligence of the organizers, volunteers, or fellow participants.

3. Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, fully release and discharge RUNWEST, its organizers, volunteers, sponsors, officers, and affiliates from any and all liability for injury, death, loss, or damage to person or property that may occur during or as a result of my participation, regardless of cause, including negligence.

4. Medical Treatment

I understand and agree that the club does not provide medical services or insurance. I authorize any medical treatment deemed necessary if I am injured or become ill during an event. I agree to bear any costs related to such treatment.

5. Code of Conduct

I agree to act in a manner that is respectful, responsible, and safe. I will follow the guidance of the organizers and adhere to traffic laws and safety rules while participating in club events.

6. Photography and Media Release

I grant permission for photographs and/or videos of me taken during club activities to be used by RUNWEST for promotional purposes, including on social media and websites, without compensation.

7. Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state/province in which the club operates. If any provision is held to be invalid, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.
