Dr. Will Krithararis | Osteopath Strength and Conditioning Coach

Dr. Will Krithararis

Osteopath & Running Expert

DESCRIPTION

William Krithararis is an Osteopath and the Director of Alpha Sports Medicine Ascot Vale, with a strong clinical focus on running injuries, performance, and running gait analysis. He works closely with runners of all levels—from those building toward their first 5km to experienced athletes chasing marathon and ultra-marathon goals—helping them move better, stay consistent, and train with confidence.

As a dedicated running-focused Osteopath in Ascot Vale, William combines hands-on treatment with detailed running gait analysis to identify inefficiencies, reduce injury risk, and improve overall performance. His approach goes beyond simply treating pain. He works to understand why injuries occur in the first place, addressing biomechanics, training load, and recovery to build more resilient runners.

William holds a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) from Victoria University, and is also a Level 1 Running Coach through Athletics Victoria. This dual skillset allows him to bridge the gap between treatment and performance, providing practical, personalised guidance around training structure, load management, and long-term progression.

His connection to Osteopathy began early, following his own experience with AFL-related injuries as a teenager. Spending time sidelined gave him firsthand insight into the frustration of not understanding your body or how to return to sport. This experience now underpins his clinical approach—helping runners and active individuals make sense of their injuries, regain control, and move forward with clarity.

Running is a central part of William’s life. Having completed multiple marathons and an ultra marathon, he understands the physical and mental demands of endurance training—early mornings, fatigue, setbacks, and the unpredictability of performance. He recognises that progress in running is rarely linear, and works with patients to navigate both the highs and the challenging phases, ensuring they continue progressing without burnout or recurring injury.

Before focusing fully on endurance sport, William spent three years playing VFL football with the Northern Blues and continues to play local football. This background provides a well-rounded understanding of both high-impact team sports and endurance-based training, shaping his approach to injury management, strength development, and return-to-sport planning.

At the core of his philosophy is a simple principle: the body is built to move. By supporting movement through strength, smart training load, and consistency, long-term performance and injury resilience can be achieved. William takes an individualised approach to care, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to running, rehabilitation, or performance.

Based in Ascot Vale, William works with runners and active individuals from Ascot Vale, Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Brunswick, and surrounding suburbs, providing osteopathy, running gait analysis, and performance-focused rehabilitation.

Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find him out on a run (often preparing for his next race), at the bouldering gym, or exploring Melbourne’s food and coffee scene. And as a loyal supporter, he’ll always be backing the mighty Magpies.
