Dr. Lara Trevorrow

Osteopath

DESCRIPTION

Lara is an Osteopath with a strong passion for women’s health, pregnancy care, postpartum rehabilitation, paediatrics, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and family healthcare. As both an osteopath and a mum of two boys, Lara understands firsthand the physical demands that pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, parenting, sport, work, and everyday life can place on the body. Her approach to care is warm, supportive, evidence-informed, and centred around helping patients feel heard, comfortable, and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Lara’s journey into osteopathy began after the birth of her first baby. When her son was just 10 weeks old, he developed a strong preference for turning his head to one side and had begun developing a flat spot on his head. Concerned about his comfort and development, Lara took him to see an osteopath. Watching the gentle hands-on treatment approach and seeing the positive changes in her baby inspired her to pursue a career in osteopathy herself. She was drawn to the holistic nature of osteopathy and the ability to support babies, children, women, athletes, and families through all stages of life.

Since then, Lara has completed additional training in pregnancy care, postpartum rehabilitation, paediatrics, and Pilates-based rehabilitation, allowing her to provide tailored osteopathic treatment for a wide range of conditions and presentations. She has a particular interest in helping women feel supported throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery, as well as helping babies and children reach their developmental milestones comfortably and confidently.
Lara treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and enjoys working with patients of all ages, from newborn babies through to adults and athletes. She commonly sees patients for neck pain, headaches, back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, sporting injuries, postural tension, joint pain, muscle tightness, pregnancy-related discomfort, postpartum rehabilitation, and paediatric concerns.

Pregnancy

Lara has a special interest in pregnancy and enjoys supporting women throughout every stage of pregnancy. Pregnancy places significant physical demands on the body as posture changes, ligaments soften, and the body adapts to support a growing baby. Lara provides gentle, tailored osteopathic treatment to help manage common pregnancy-related aches and pains while supporting mobility, comfort, and function throughout pregnancy.
She commonly treats pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, sciatica, rib pain, hip pain, neck and shoulder tension, postural discomfort, pubic symphysis pain, and muscular tightness. Treatment may include gentle osteopathic techniques, soft tissue therapy, dry needling where appropriate, exercise advice, movement strategies, and supportive rehabilitation exercises.
Lara understands that every pregnancy is different and aims to create a safe, calm, and supportive environment where women feel comfortable discussing their symptoms, concerns, and goals during pregnancy. Her focus is not only on pain relief, but also on helping women maintain confidence and movement throughout pregnancy and prepare for birth and postpartum recovery.

Postpartum & Women’s Health

Lara is passionate about supporting women during the postpartum period and understands that recovery after birth looks different for every mum. Whether recovering from a vaginal birth or caesarean section, the postpartum period can place significant physical and emotional demands on the body.
Lara provides tailored postpartum osteopathic care to support recovery, improve movement, reduce pain, and help women return to exercise, work, sport, and daily activities safely and confidently. She commonly works with women experiencing neck and shoulder tension from feeding and carrying babies, lower back pain, pelvic pain, abdominal weakness, postural strain, and general postpartum musculoskeletal discomfort.
She also has a particular interest in supporting women through postpartum recovery and rehabilitation. Lara commonly works with women recovering from both vaginal and caesarean births and understands the physical demands that pregnancy, birth, feeding, carrying children, and returning to daily activities can place on the body. She has a strong interest in caesarean section scar treatment and mobility, diastasis recti rehabilitation, pelvic floor rehabilitation support, postural rehabilitation after pregnancy, and helping women safely return to exercise and sport postpartum. Lara also incorporates core and glute strengthening, movement retraining, and rehabilitation programs to help support recovery from birth-related physical strain and improve long-term strength, stability, and confidence.

Paediatrics

Lara has completed additional training in paediatric osteopathy and enjoys working with babies, toddlers, and children of all ages. As a mum herself, she understands how important it is for parents to feel supported and reassured when seeking care for their child.
Lara commonly sees babies for concerns including head turning preferences, flat spots on the head (plagiocephaly), muscular tension and stiffness, feeding discomfort, unsettled behaviour, tummy time difficulties, and general musculoskeletal discomfort. She also enjoys supporting babies and children through developmental milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking, helping to encourage comfortable movement and development as they grow.
For toddlers and older children, Lara commonly treats growing pains, postural tension, sports injuries, neck and back pain, joint and muscle discomfort, movement and mobility concerns, and sporting strains and overuse injuries. Her treatment approach with children is always gentle, calm, and adapted to suit the child’s age, comfort, and individual needs.

Pilates

Lara also offers tailored 1:1 Pilates rehabilitation sessions, incorporating both mat Pilates and reformer Pilates. She has completed her Certificate IV in Pilates and enjoys combining Pilates-based rehabilitation with osteopathic treatment to help patients improve strength, mobility, stability, confidence, and movement patterns.
Her Pilates sessions are individually tailored and may be suitable for injury rehabilitation, postural strengthening, pregnancy and postpartum exercise, core rehabilitation, return to exercise programs, return to work after injury, building confidence before attending group classes, strength and mobility training, sporting rehabilitation, and lower back and pelvic stability programs.
Lara enjoys helping patients feel more confident in movement and believes Pilates can play an important role in long-term injury prevention, rehabilitation, and functional strength.

Sports & General Osteopathy

Growing up, Lara was heavily involved in sport and has always had a passion for movement and physical activity. She participated in hockey, athletics, cycling, and triathlons throughout her younger years and continues to play hockey currently. Her sporting background gives her a strong understanding of the physical demands placed on the body during training, competition, recovery, and everyday movement.
Lara enjoys treating junior athletes, active adults, and general musculoskeletal conditions and has a strong understanding of the physical demands placed on the body through sport, work, parenting, and everyday life. She commonly treats sporting injuries, muscle strains, joint sprains, tendinopathies, running-related injuries, neck and back pain, shoulder pain, hip and knee pain, postural tension, and overuse injuries. Her goal is to not only help patients recover from injury, but also improve movement, strength, and confidence to support long-term health and performance.
Lara incorporates a range of treatment techniques depending on each patient’s individual needs and goals. Her treatment approach may include osteopathic manual therapy, soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, exercise rehabilitation, Clinical Pilates, dry needling, cupping therapy, sports taping, movement retraining, and tailored strength and mobility programs. She believes in combining hands-on treatment with active rehabilitation and education to help patients achieve long-term results and feel confident in their movement and recovery.

As a healthcare practitioner and busy mum of two boys, Lara understands that healthcare should feel approachable, supportive, and realistic. She aims to create a welcoming environment where patients of all ages feel comfortable, listened to, and supported throughout their care.
Whether you are seeking support during pregnancy, recovering postpartum, looking for paediatric osteopathy care for your baby or child, managing a sporting injury, or wanting tailored rehabilitation and Pilates support, Lara is passionate about helping patients move and feel their best.
